Jesse's tonsils are gone-- hooray! The surgery went incredibly fast; the recovery has been a little slow, but we are so thankful that he was able to get this surgery done. Hopefully it will not only keep him from having a throat infection every month, but it will also keep him from getting malaria so much since his immune system won't be dealing with his tonsils. We'll see. He is now feeling great as long as both of his pain killers are in effect :). He definitely crashes as they begin to wear off, though, and he has been having trouble sleeping. The weirdest thing was that his uvula (that punching-bag thing in the back of his throat) swelled up and made him feel like he was choking whenever he tried to sleep the first few nights. The doctor hadn't mentioned that, but after some reading online we determined that it was normal.
Zach is doing really well. I'm not sure what his weight is at the moment, but he is going on a record for time spent being healthy-- he has just passed the two-week mark. We have been keeping him away from church and other public places and I guess it is working. Hooray!
