Zach's immune system. Last night he had a fever of 104 while taking
tylenol, and this morning he had a febrile convulsion. Talk about
SCARY, even though the doctor and my baby books say it is OK-- just
get the fever down quickly afterward. Zach has had two negative
malaria test results, and I have not missed a day of his preventative
meds, so malaria seems unlikely. The pediatrician thinks it is a mix
of a mild urinary infection and the bad cold/flu that he started
coming down with about the time the fever started. He has prescribed
bactrim, an antibiotic, though not a very strong one. He says to try
that today and see what happens tonight. I am very much dreading the
night, as last night I think I slept a total of two hours in little
snatches between spongings and baths and feeding Micah and meds...
and we are having someone's wedding celebration here at our house
tomorrow. Please pray that Zach's fever goes away by this evening so
we can get a good night's sleep. I am SO thankful that his convulsion
was in the morning and we could go to the doctor afterwards. Somehow
these things are even more scary in the dark. Micah is doing well,
just completely off any sort of schedule as a result of us dealing
with Zach. I have the horrible flu too, though I don't have a fever,
which is probably part of why I'm not handling things well. Sorry
this is so long-- it's hard to be concise in your sleep.
Thanks for your prayers, Joy
