Operation Lift

Hi, Everyone!

Remember just a little bit ago when I wrote about Discovery School's needs?  Since then, God has already provided $10,000 toward a bus!  In that same letter I shared about the general need for more toilets, and Aubert's particular need for us to finish the toilets that will be handicap accessible. I asked you to pray that God would provide, and  added that a "sponsor-a-toilet campaign … seemed  a little off somehow." Well, apparently most of you don't agree with me!

We have been inundated with  encouragement to do just that.  In fact, a family friend  from my childhood days in Ethiopia has offered to fund a toilet matching campaign.   He has offered to match up to $7,500 of funds raised between now and  March  22nd.  Another friend offered to promote whatever idea we came up with on her website, ShreddedGrace.com. Check it out if you want to share this need with someone who hasn't heard about Discovery School before, as she gives more background and also shares the beautiful and heartbreaking story of her connection with Discovery School... definitely worth the read!

If, together, we can raise $7,500, we can complete 38 toilets to be used now!  Even better, the project can be completed in three $5,000 phases, so we can start work even before the full amount has been raised!

So, without further ado, in honor of  the friends that lifted the paralytic up to the roof so that they could get him to Jesus, and the modern-day friends that followed their example by lifting Aubert's chair each day, we are grateful to announce the launch of Operation Lift! Donate here.
