PTL for safe return to Burundi

Dear Friends,

This is Joy's mom writing to say that Jesse and Joy, Zach and Micah arrived back in Burundi on Wednesday as scheduled.  Thank you for your prayers!  We were able to reach them by phone for the first time today.

They ALL are very happy to be back to their own place again. We praise the Lord for the many ways He has answered prayer through this time.

Two-year old Zach is happy, but very frustrated that his little world has changed so much.  He loves his little brother, but can't figure out what has happened to his mom that she can't give him her undivided attention as much as she used to.  Please pray that Zach will sleep well and adjust quickly to sharing his parents with Micah.  He is often having what the doctor called "night terrors".  He wakes up screaming.  When Jesse or Joy goes in to comfort him, it takes quite a while for him to be able to be comforted.  This started before they left Burundi in December.

Jesse arrived home to find that the electricity had been out for several days since lightening had struck an electric pole nearby.  It came back on Wednesday night.  In the meantime their generator had broken down as well.  His first full day back,  he was able to repair it - PTL.  Water has been off for several days now, too.  Jesse said they have enough water to get through tomorrow...  He has also been able to meet with the church and Bible School committee to discuss problems that they are dealing with.
- Please pray that God will give Jesse His wisdom and discernment to know what part they are to have in helping  for such a time as this...
-Pray that the water would come on continuously and stay strong.
-Pray that Jesse would get rested and be refreshed as well.

Micah is adjusting - He is eating well and gaining weight.  He has a cold and had a slight fever today.  The distress caused by painful  hiccups frequently keep him (and his family) awake.  His skin has a light yellow hue as well as his sclera.  The doctor said that it may take a couple months for that jaundice to totally clear up.  It seems that If he could sleep better then everyone else would be doing better too.  Praise the Lord that he is generally healthy - no heart murmur now - and pray that he will get over his cold and grow well -  getting over the jaundice very soon.  Pray that he will settle into a good feeding schedule and get back to sleep quickly especially after each night feeding.

Joy is also glad to be back, but she is exhausted.   Pray that her body would completely heal and her energy level would increase.  Pray that God would provide the help that's needed through this time..

How we thank God for each one of you who have prayed, encouraged and supported them through this time.

Gratefully praising the Lord for all He has done,

Ruth Clark
