Dear Friends and Family,
Merry Christmas! I imagine you are all in the flurry of last minute preparations and travels, but wanted to ask you to pause as you read this and pray for the Discovery School Christmas program that is happening tomorrow (Sat. the 22nd). The students are singing and dancing and reciting verses to share the story of Christ's birth, and then Phineas, a Burundian elder who serves nearby will share the gospel. The whole school (500+ kids) and many parents (600-800) will be in attendance. Please pray that things will go smoothly enough not to distract from the message and that people will come to know the Lord.
Also, Jesse will be sharing a Christmas message from God's word at our local church this Sunday. Probably over a thousand people, so just A BIT intimidating, though he has done it before. Just like back home, there will be lots of visitors since it's Christmas time, so again please pray that Jesse will speak clearly (he will be speaking about the power of the name of Jesus) and that hearts will be open.
Right now the kids' tummies are fine. Hooray! All for now! Hopefully I will get a "real" newsletter out with pics of the DS Christmas program soon after it is over to let you know how it went :). God is with us! Joy
