Dear Family and Friends,
This is Joy's mom writing again as J & J are in the hospital with Elliot - just watching Elliot's struggle and praying... still not able to hold him.... They are exhausted and discouraged - trying to hold on tightly to the Lord and all His truths and not give up!
Please continue to pray for little Elliot. Since he was first moved to the special care unit, Elliot was doing steadily better until this morning. They were preparing him to go back to the first nursery that he was in and Jesse and Joy had been told they could hold him this afternoon! The nurses had taken Elliot off the oxygen and he was doing well, until they tried to take his blood for a test. (He's been stuck MANY times now.) Then his heart raced and his blood oxygen level dropped to critical levels. They put him back on pure oxygen but first reports indicated it was not helping his critical condition. Now his breathing is erratic and they are not sure what is wrong or what to do with him. Joy called me an hour later to say that he was still not doing well - they feel like they are losing him. They are doing tests - but each one seems to be a more drastic/traumatic procedure than the one before. Please pray that if it's God's will that He would give Elliot strength to keep fighting to live! He's been fighting hard every day of his new little life so far.
