This is Joy's mom writing again.
I just talked to Joy around 3:30 this afternoon. They are 7 hours
ahead of us in Tanzania. The doctor had just checked in to see how
Zach was doing. They had all been sleeping for nearly an hour. Zach
had had more n and v off and on through the day today along with
fever. Neither his blood or other body fluid tests show what is
causing this severe n and v and resulting dehydration. He is on his
third electrolyte drip. They have given him Chloromphenecol and this
evening they have started him on Ampicillin intravenously. They had
given him an injection of Phergan to stop the vomiting too. He slept a
lot during the day. Sometimes he was thirsty and hungry and they
tried to give him very small amounts so that he could keep it down.
They were not always successful. A couple of times he was disoriented
and called for his Dad or Mom if they were not in sight. On the whole
he has been patient and only cried a little from all the pokes. All
of us are praying so much that he will quickly recover and that he
will be all right soon. Please pray for Jesse and Joy especially that
they would experience God's peace and that they will draw closer to
the Lord through this trial.
There is a possibility that they could medically evacuate Zach to
Nairobi, Kenya tomorrow. The MAF plane is on stand-by to take him -
if it seems to be the thing to do. Please pray that God will make it
obvious if Zach is to go to Nairobi!
The doctor they have in Tanzania is not very communicative. Please
pray that if they ARE to go to Kenya that the doctor and everyone
involved will be in agreement and that God will open up the way. More
than anything, they are praying that God will do a miracle and Zach
will be very much improved in the morning after having had a good
night - so we pray and hope and wait on the Lord for his leading. It
would be very expensive for them to fly to Kenya - including buying
Kenyan visas for them all - so they really want the LORD to make the
way VERY clear before them - they do not want to run ahead of God nor
do they want to wait too long... They are trusting God to make it
plain...in the morning...
THANKS FOR PRAYING.
Gratefully,
Ruth Clark
