Zach is still the same-- fever around 102. We will start cephalosporin injections (IV?) tomorrow morning. Zach will be very upset after all his "pokes" in Kenya, but hopefully these will work quickly.
Meanwhile Jesse's brother Ben was rushed to Heri Hospital in Tanzania near the Burundi border just a few hours ago. Blood tests confirmed that Ben does has appendicitis, and they were gathering the operating team and putting in the IV to put Ben to sleep as we talked. Jesse's Dad says the man who will operate is a trustworthy Phillipino doctor. They have three extra beds in the recovery room where Ben will be brought and they will all sleep there tonight, then move to a guest house for the rest of the days of recovery. Ben and Stevie were scheduled to return to RVA on Sunday, but that will obviously have to be delayed.
Thank you again and again for covering Ben and all of us with prayer as we go through these crisis and then continuing to cover Jesse and I as we make important decisions about our future.
