Sorry to write with yet another request without any positive news
first, but we need help. We are in Tanzania, having travelled here
last Wednesday so that Jesse could have a bit of a break after his
crazy month while we were away. Zach started having diahrrea on
Tuesday before we left. Since we were travelling, we gave him an
anti-parasite cure which stopped the diarrhea until yesterday night,
when Zach woke in the middle of the night with severe diahrrea. We
sent a stool sample in the morning, and the lab said he had only white
blood cells-- no parasites or worms and needed just to wait it out.
We have been giving him medicine to restore the good flora in his
intestines, but it doesn't seem to be helping.
Just now he had the worst diarrhea I have ever seen in all our time
out here. Cups and cups of almost pure water. He says he feels OK
except for a bad stomach ache and being "super tired." He has no
fever, he is just extremely lethargic. We are on our way to see a
local pediatrician now. I have been told they have what it takes to
do an IV if that become necessary. Please pray for wisdom for us and
the doctor.
