Please pray for mercy for our precious little boy. This battle with illness is taking so much out of all of us. We have prayed about whether God is trying to direct us to go somewhere else, but have found only encouragment to trust Him over and over, and in fact this current thing is something he caught in either TZ or Kenya-- maybe he would be this sick wherever we lived, but we are so tired...
Zach is still not responding to the antibiotic. The Egyptian doctor says that the infection in his throat is so bad that we need to give the antibiotic 3-4 days to effect change instead of just 2... He doesn't want to culture either the puss from Zach's throat or his urine at the moment. He thinks that if we wait another 2 days the Augmentin will kick the throat infection and then we can see what to do about the urinary infection. In some ways this makes sense, but right now two more days of waiting for something that may or may not work, while watching Zach get sicker and doesn't seem like a good plan. Zach's temp is 103-- he is in the tub because he couldn't get warm in bed. He just took his dose of unflavored Augmentin (they don't make nice flavored medicine here) after a 20 minute ordeal that involved threats, bribes (chocolate), and vomiting.
